UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024

Check eligibility:

Nationality: For the Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Foreign Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India. For other services, she/he must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal, Bhutan; a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India; or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age limits: A candidate must be 21 years old and not more than 32 years old on the cut-off date. The cut-off date will be mentioned in the notification. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be applicable to reserve category candidates.
Educational Qualification:
A graduate candidate from a recognized university can apply for UPSC CSE 2024. Candidates with recognized professional qualifications (engineering, medical, etc.) are also eligible.

Important Dates:

As per the examination calendar of UPSC, the Civil Services Prelims examination will be held on May 26, the application process will begin today, February 14, and end on March 5.

Apply Online:

  • • Visit the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in.
  • • Click on the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2024 link available on the home page.
  • • A new page will open where candidates will have to register themselves.
  • • Once the registration is done, log in to the account.
  • • Fill out the application form and make the payment of application fees.
  • • Click on submit and download the page. Keep a hard copy of the same for further need.

 Complete OTR before applying (All candidates must complete the one-time registration (OTR) process before applying for the Civil Services examination)

Number of attempts: 

A candidate can attempt the Civil Services examination up to six times. However, relaxation has been given to reserved category candidates:

• SC/ST(including PwD): Unlimited

• OBC, General-PwD, OBC-PwD, EWS-PwD: 9
